The Arts

The Links support of the arts can be traced to our cultured co-founder Margaret Rosell Hawkins. Her innate artistic talent, discovered at a young age, earned her a four-year scholarship to the Women’s School of Design, later known as the Moore Institute of Art. Her passion for creative expression later led to her appointment as an art teacher, and helped give root to the establishment of The Arts facet in 1964 at the 14th National Assembly.

The goal of The Annapolis Chapter Arts Facet is to facilitate positive change and awareness of the Arts in the Annapolis area.  The Arts facet strives to achieve this goal by producing and supporting arts related programs which enrich the quality of life of our youth and community.

Programmatic Highlights Include:
Artful Afternoons at the Banneker-Douglass Museum
The Artful Afternoon event provided the Annapolis community with an opportunity for an open mic, improv, music, poetry, creativity and art.  This event is made possible through the collaboration of the Banneker-Douglass Museum and the Annapolis Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
