The Annapolis Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has a long tradition of delivering and sustaining transformational programming to the surrounding community through our five Facets: Services to Youth, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, Health and Human Services and The Arts.  Through our Facets, the Chapter implements programs and initiatives that address the most critical needs of the Annapolis community.  Our programs are developed to have a long-term positive impact on the community.  By learning from and engaging community members and partners through various forums, each Facet provides a variety of ongoing programs designed to meet the needs of our community.

Each Facet works collaboratively to develop an umbrella program (a program that requires the input and participation of all five Facets), and individually to develop programs tailored to address priorities in a specific area.   Programming highlights include the following:

  • The Links Leadership Academy for Young Women is a partnership with Annapolis High School and prepares young women for leadership roles in their community by building self-confidence and an astute awareness of social and political issues locally, nationally and internationally.
  • The Women’s Empowerment Forum is an award-winning program (Eastern Area and National) designed with community members to improve the lives of women in the Annapolis community through providing resources leading to social and economic empowerment, and the development of self-awareness.
  • The Health Kids Leadership Academy is a partnership with the Bywater Boys and Girls Club that teaches children to make informed decisions related to the importance of healthy eating and developing healthy habits that are sustainable throughout their lives.
  • The Joyce McManus Scholarship is a new initiative that provides support to a young person in the Annapolis community pursing the arts.
  • Education Across the Miles is a signature program of The Links, Incorporated and each year the Annapolis Chapter provides school supplies and other necessities to our adopted schools in Jamaica.
